CHIMNEYS UP AND DOWN THE BLOCK {2024}
Since moving to my new place I’ve been inspired by the view from my balcony.
Seeing the beautiful apartment buildings with their old fashioned chimneys. Watching the last sunlight of the day hitting the tiles on the rooftop and seeing the black shadows arise.
McDONALD’S ESCAPE ROOM {2024}
I was asked to make a “Where Is Wally?” style illustration for a McDonald’s Escape Room.
In which you need to find the “Happy” figure. It is the first of three games you need to finish of this Family Events social media campaign.
For this illustration I used architectural elements of McDonald’s as well as a few games which are incorporated in the Escape Room.
The illustration got printed on a 100 cm x 200 cm board and got placed inside the giant wooden Happy Meal.
NOUKIFEST {2024}
This year was the third edition of Noukifest. A birthday camping weekend filled with musical performances, swimming, campfires and games.
For this poster design I was inspired by the style of “the standard” travel agency website, but combined with a Buuf Buur twist.
This illustration is based on the idea of an “old fashioned” Dutch newspaper. With a few typical Dutch elements, such as the windmill and the paperboy on the bike.
During the morning, the afternoon and evening we read and hear and listen to the news. With most of the news being negative nowadays.
The best way for me to cope with this is through cynical humor. A short comic in the newspapers’ is mostly cynical. That’s why I’ve added some “comic book” elements to enhance this feel and vibe.
